In contrast to designing both the cover and interior, we also get to design just the covers and I like the change of pace of designing these covers, although, in truth, covers can sometimes take many iterations before the final design goes to press. However, similar to designing a poster, in many instances, the cover must try and condense a lot of meaning and substance into a single image. In today’s publishing world, covers must also function immediately and initiate a response on social media platforms like Instagram, where more and more audiences are discovering books. The paperback publications shown here are “Style, and Anti-Textbook”, “Right off the Bat!”, “The Writer Who Stayed” and “The Selected Poetry of Gabriel Zaid”.
